RICHARD CHAPPELL

Richard's training started on The Royal Ballet School’s Associate Program and with London Dance Theatre before continuing to Tring Park School and Rambert School. Whilst training, Richard danced works by Mark Baldwin, Robert North, Wayne Sleep and Anthony Dowson. Richard's interest in choreography started during his training through making work for the National Youth Ballet (Sadler's Wells) and Youth Dance England's Young Creatives Scheme (Royal Opera House).

Throughout 2014-2016 Richard created and toured his inaugural evening of work 'IRIS' and 'The Vast Rocks' with funding from Arts Council England and The Linbury Trust. For dance in film, Richard has created 'Linchpin' through Pavilion Dance South West's Young Choreographers Scheme, 'Moments in 360' with film-maker Kevin Clifford for viewing in virtual reality and 'Introduction' with Stuttgart Ballet Soloist Robert Robinson.

Richard has created works for Stuttgart Ballet (Noverre Gesellschaft 2016), English National Ballet's engagement department, MurleyDance, Chichester University and the National Youth Ballet. As a teacher he has taught for School of the Arts Singapore, Lasalle College of theArts, Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance, Tring Park Associates, Swindon Dance, Northern School of Contemporary Dance and Youth Dance England, amongst others. Richard is a Choreographer and Producer for BalletWorks and a Discovery Artist at Pavilion Dance South West.
