RCD's Engagement Work
Since first forming, RCD has nurtured the creative potential of many young dancers, professionals and shared a passion for moving with a rich range of local communities throughout the UK and abroad via independent workshops, residencies and community participatory programmes. The ensemble leads large and ambitious community experiences in the South West of England and in Wales. These programmes involve extensive performing of intergenerational and integrated casts.Through these sessions, RCD's engagement team give participants an insight into the company's creative methods and ideology, through their inclusive, playful and challenging approach to contemporary dance.
Since 2017, RCD has created four ambitious choreographies for large intergenerational community casts with the organisations Dance Blast, Dance in Devon, Span Arts and Torbay Culture.
As a community dance artist, Richard has five years of experience working as an inclusive arts facilitator and support worker for ROC Creative, alongside delivering regular workings to young people with learning difficulties, through Lifeworks and Dance in Devon.
